Matthew received his undergraduate degree from the Eli Broad College of Business at Michigan State University.

After, he attended law school at the University of Detroit Mercy. In addition to his law degree, Matthew has a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Detroit Mercy. While attending school, Matthew interned for a United States Congresswomen, clerked with a Macomb County Circuit Court Judge, and worked for a large Macomb County law firm.

Through law school, Matthew maintained high academic achievements; including jurisprudence awards in both Health Law and Core Concepts. Matthew's experience is in creditor's rights and criminal matters. As part of Matthew's criminal practice, he specializes in the newly enacted Michigan Medical Marijuana Act.
